JOB BOARD
Job Board invites members to engage in organization’s activities
The TS Canada Job Board works the same as the Government of Canada’s Job Bank. A job is posted on the Job Board, and then members who are looking for a way to share their various abilities and interests apply for the job of their choice.
Members may use the Job Board in two ways: advertise a job in their community, or apply for one. All jobs must further the mission of Tuberous Sclerosis Canada: to raise awareness, to support families affected by TSC, and to support TS research.
Being a new endeavour, TS Canada currently has only two jobs to advertise, that of Events Planner and Researcher.
Bilingual Writer
Connections is currently seeking copy writers, both English and French (bilingual). People interested in writing for TS Canada’s print publication should possess a degree in journalism or equivalent in experience. Ideal candidates will also have an awareness of issues of diversity. Experience with disabilities issues will also be an asset. Send your résumé and samples of your work to Linda Viscardis, Managing Editor at linda.viscardis@sympatico.ca.
Events Planner
This is a time limited, volunteer position. Several people are needed. Task force members will help to plan one or more fund/awareness raising events in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario area. Events to be planned include a walk (Spring 2007), a golf tournament (June 2007) and a conference (Fall 2007). This job may be of interest to people who have strong communication and leadership skills, are highly organized, are people-oriented, work well to strict timelines and who are dedicated to the mission of Tuberous Sclerosis Canada. Applicants may contact Karen Shulist at 905-426-6219 or by email at kshulist@sympatico.ca.
Researcher
This is a time limited, volunteer position. This person, or team of people, will research the names, locations and contact information of medical professionals, specialists and therapists across the country who have expertise and interest in Tuberous Sclerosis Complex. This information will be published by TS Canada. Publication of this information will not indicate endorsement of their services by Tuberous Sclerosis Canada Sclérose Tubéreuse. (Members must take responsibility for any and all medical consultations.) Although no experience is necessary, some experience with research methods would definitely be an asset. This job may be of interest to people who have strong organizational skills, are creative, are self-motivated and work well without supervision. Applicants may contact Karen Shulist at 905-426-6219 or by email at kshulist@sympatico.ca.
